It is with a heart filled with gratitude and humility that I relate an experience which, although seeming at first glance of slight consequence, includes great possibilities for the destruction of more serious errors of character.
On several occasions, through prayer in Christian Science, I had previously been able to be rid of small disfiguring growths of flesh. But for some months I prayed without apparent success to be rid of an error of the same order that assumed a particularly annoying character because it was at the base of the nose.
Finding the thing devoid of beauty, I worked in Science as I had previously done. I often pondered and prayed to be enlightened on this subject. Then a basic metaphysical fact I had not thought of came to me, namely, "that this having neither Principle nor substance, had never been created and consequently could not belong to me."
