Sitting on the Sidelines?

One Sunday while discussing membership in The Mother Church and its branches with a teen-age Sunday School class, I asked, "If you knew a lot about playing football and had great athletic ability, what would be the most effective thing you could do to help your hometown team win?"

Instantly a six-footer in the class replied, "Join the team!"

"All right," I pursued. "You join the team—get a snappy new uniform—looks great! But will that win games? What else must you do to be of real value on the team?"
