A momentous event occurred in our family when I was about nine years old. Both of my parents were healed of nervous breakdowns through Christian Science, and in gratitude they began the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. As a result, I am happy to say, I was early enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School.
Just a few years later a real testing time came in the family when my mother had a ruptured appendix. The Christian Science practitioner who was called to pray for my mother was able to overcome the family fear through her strong affirmation all through the night of divine Love's protection, and by morning Mother was well on the way to recovery, and in a few days was completely healed. Our mother was happily and actively with us for many years after that.
I myself have experienced divine guidance and many healings through the years, including a case of what appeared to be blood poisoning, the effects of a fall, and others. One instance that stands out in my mind concerned an important business experience.
