Revelation implies the unveiling of something hitherto unknown, especially something that can become apparent only through the impelling power of God. Whatever is of divinity starts with divinity and not with human beings. The self-revelation of God has gradually taken place through unnumbered centuries as people have humbly yielded to His presence and realized that there is something beyond the material sense of life, something pure and divine that is native to man.
Through silent revelations God interprets Himself, makes known His nature, His creation, His will, His law, His man, the true idea of worship. Then divine power invariably asserts its authority over matter and evil by healing contradictions of the harmony that is always evidence of God's creation—His heaven. Healing is the insignia of true revelation. It makes valid the assertion that a revelation has come.
When Christ Jesus entered upon his public ministry, his first words showed that an unveiling was about to occur. He said, "Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."Matt. 4:17; The world was ready for a higher sense of life as it exists in God. A tremendous revelation was at its doors.
