I have had unmistakable proof over a period of many years that Christian Science, when understood and humbly, honestly, and consistently practiced, brings health, joy, guidance, and healing.
My first healing was of a collapsed lung. I had X-ray pictures showing that this condition existed, but I had dismissed it as something I could not help or that could not be healed. Then I found Christian Science. After I had been studying the Bible, together with the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, for about a year, a physical examination in connection with swimming instructions showed the lung condition had been healed. At another time I was healed of pneumonia in three days by reading the Bible and the textbook.
Words can never express my gratitude for the healing of grief at the passing of my husband. I asked a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science to help me during this time. The harmonious and orderly way in which my affairs were settled without delay, and the thoughtfulness of friends and acquaintances, is beyond description. Through expectant prayer for several days and nights, I felt divinely directed to return to the city where I had previously lived, which was about a thousand miles distant.
