One Sunday as our family was preparing to drive to church in our camper bus, I was distracted momentarily and relaxed my foot on the brake. The next thing I knew, our little daughter let out a cry that the wheel had rolled over her foot.
I jumped out of the car and as I picked her up, I said aloud, "God is everywhere." I knew positively that there could be no accident in God's universe, that God is the only power there is and nothing can harm God's perfect child, who is spiritual. I repeated the Lord's Prayer slowly to get the full inspired meaning from every word. The child nodded Yes when I declared that she was God's spiritual idea and not material.
It seemed right that we continue on to church, which was a half hour's drive. Along the way our family recited in unison the ninety first Psalm, knowing that no evil could befall us. We also sang one of Mrs. Eddy's hymns. Although our daughter's crying had subsided, she did limp into the Sunday School class. I had asked our family to continue praying and to know that man is whole and complete.
