About fourteen years ago I experienced an outstanding healing through the application of Christian Science. I had attended Sunday School in a Church of Christ, Scientist, and several members of my family were students of Science, but I just did not accept its teachings.
One morning I went outdoors to wash my car. We were living on a steep hill, and I washed the car in the driveway. Suddenly I was thrown to the ground and injured by a truck that had been parked a couple of blocks uphill and had slipped its brakes.
Because I was unconscious, a neighbor made an emergency call, and I was taken to a hospital by ambulance. My husband and sister were notified. Under these exceptional emergency situations, and as I was still in an unconscious condition, my sister asked my husband if he would like to have Christian Science help for me. He gave his consent, and a practitioner agreed to take up the prayerful work immediately. The doctor in charge of the emergency room that day was informed that a Christian Science practitioner was treating me, and I was given no medication. The doctor was known to the practitioner, for she had become acquainted with him when he delivered babies on cases when the mother and child were under her care as practitioner.
