At the age of twelve I suffered with abscessed teeth. I was taken to a doctor, who said the poison from these teeth had entered the system and there was nothing he could do. An uncle came to visit and recommended to my mother that we try Christian Science. We had never heard of this religion before, but a Christian Science practitioner was called, and I was quickly healed. My mother's joy and gratitude knew no bounds. From that time I attended the Christian Science Sunday School, and the truths that I learned enabled me to demonstrate quick healings of sickness and God's protective care in my life.
Later on through reading The Christian Science Monitor, especially The Home Forum page with its religious article, I was lifted out of discordant relationships into a situation of joy and happiness.
In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read (p. 275): "The true understanding of God is spiritual. It robs the grave of victory." The grave was robbed of victory when my brother was healed through treatment by a Christian Science practitioner of tuberculosis that had progressed too far for medical aid. My father, when suffering from a heart condition and not expected to live through the night, was healed through prayer. My husband was healed of a thyroid condition that had reached a state where the verdict of the medical specialist was that nothing could be done and death was just a matter of time. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and in a few months my husband was back at work.
