Dawn gently pares away the night,
A silent breeze blows out a lingering star—
There on the mountaintop I see day kneeling.
I too would kneel. God, let me listen well;
I'm asking for an understanding heart.
Often in thoughtless haste I stoop to judging,
Then I remember, God would have me loving.
Now let my thoughts in Love and Truth abide
As day and I go walking side by side.
