I first heard of Christian Science after I was grown. My mother offered me Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to read. I rejected the offer.
Some time after my mother had passed on, Christian Science came to my attention again. I decided to attend a branch church that was in a town three miles away. I cycled to attend a Sunday morning service. When I entered I was welcomed by an usher, who said how nice it was to see me. This impressed me very much. I sat at the back so that I could go out if I wished. I stayed the whole service. I cycled home feeling I had received something important.
I followed this by visiting a Christian Science Reading Room, where I borrowed a copy of Science and Health for a fortnight. The first night I started reading it, I read until the early hours of the morning, oblivious of time. I continued to borrow the book several times.
