Speaking of Christ Jesus, Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 228), "If we follow the command of our Master, 'Take no thought for your life,' we shall never depend on bodily conditions, structure, or economy, but we shall be masters of the body, dictate its terms, and form and control it with Truth."
To those who study Christian Science and practice it, these words are a valuable help at all times. A few years ago I had beautiful proof of the presence of the Christ in the prayerful, metaphysical treatment given by a Christian Science practitioner.
I was in my office, waiting on people and working, when suddenly I felt ill. My wife was present, and I just had time to call out to her before I fainted. My wife, seeing that I was losing consciousness, denied this error, and declared that God was my life and the law of my existence. She dialed the telephone number of a Christian Science practitioner, who immediately agreed to pray for me. I felt the effect of her prayer right away and was able to wait on a person who came into the office. But afterward I fainted again. The practitioner continued her work.
