The Lord's Prayer, with its spiritual interpretation, as given in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (seepp. 16-17), has been to me a source of inspiration and healing. In introducing her interpretation of this prayer, Mrs. Eddy writes: "Our Master said, 'After this manner therefore pray ye,' and then he gave that prayer which covers all human needs."
Morning and evening and many times in between, I ponder this wonderful prayer and rely on its truthful message. On one occasion, doing this brought about a healing I will never forget and can never express enough gratitude for.
At one time I had a burning sensation around one of my breasts. But I had no fear. Later, however, the breast became more inflamed. I then called a journal-listed listed Christian Science practitioner for help. She admonished me to look away from the material evidence to Spirit, God. This way, she said, we would see the nothingness of matter. I was to keep in thought only the truth of my being, for only Truth was and is in operation.
