Poems

The Christmas heart

From the December 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Is kindness alien to your world?
Courtesy a quality withheld?
Then give them where you are!
Be courteous and be kind.

Somewhere is terror blasting life?
Fear and ignorance fanned to strife?
Then heal them, where you are.
Learn to be loving and wise.

See God, one good, make what is made—
His likeness spiritual, unafraid.
God is here, where you are;
express Him in your life.

From Him come quiet, courage, faith,
to touch mankind in every place
with healing—where you are is
peace on earth, good will to men.
