Poems

To stand

From the March 1984 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If God were vengeful, I had been
Long since struck down.
Yet here I stand, to watch
The mists of sinful sense disperse
Before the splendor of His Word, His face.
I stand to see the rainbow of His presence span
All time and tide and willful works of man
With everlasting promise of His saving grace.
