In the decade since Christian Science was introduced to me I have experienced and witnessed many healings. Each one has been important in furthering my understanding of this Science of Christ.
The one I would like to share occurred after the birth of our second child. We had gone to a hospital for the delivery, since doctors were prohibited from attending home births in our area.
Two hours after the birth of our healthy son I began to hemorrhage. A nurse, taking my blood pressure, reported the result as "60 over nothing." Upon hearing the word nothing my husband, an experienced Christian Scientist, remembered the phrase "the nothingness of matter." (The complete sentence is found in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy on page 480 and states: "When the substance of Spirit appears in Christian Science, the nothingness of matter is recognized.") By clinging steadfastly to that spiritual concept my husband felt unafraid. He notified a Christian Science practitioner of our situation and asked for help through prayer.
