Dear Reader

From the January 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Some months ago we worked closely with The Christian Science Board of Directors in developing a special issue of the Christian Science Sentinel called "Humanity's quest for health." Out of the wide-ranging discussions held at that time also emerged plans for a special issue of the Journal.

What you now have in hand is that special issue Journal. Designed to strengthen the practice of Christianly scientific healing, it also serves to reaffirm the central role of healing in the Christian Science movement. An important message by the Board of Directors is included. The statement helps to keep thought anchored where it needs to be and offers this wise counsel: "While legislatures and courts sort out the issues, Christian Scientists will do what they have done so well since the beginning of this movement—seek the protection of divine law, the only source of true security."

This special issue of the Journal encourages us to do just that—to get on with our demonstration of Christ, Truth. Nothing else can do so much to move this movement forward. This issue brings together in one place a powerful group of articles and testimonies of healing—tools we can use in the all-important work we're committed to doing together.
