I feel very blessed in having witnessed my grandmother's healing. I had just completed my first semester of college. Though I had been raised in Christian Science, my first time away from home led to a drifting away from the study and application of the spiritual truths I had learned at home and in Sunday School. I was feeling somewhat unsure of what I believed at the time I was visiting my grandmother.
The biggest challenge for me during the experience was handling an overpowering sense of fear. I knew that humanly I was incapable of helping my grandmother and so turned my trust completely to God. Through the calm words of the practitioner and the strong faith evident in my grandmother, the fear slipped away. As I read the Bible Lesson aloud at her bedside, the words came through clearly, bringing with them a deeper understanding of God.
As the healing became obvious, I was filled with immense gratitude to God for Christian Science. Witnessing at close hand the power of Spirit, God, over fear and pain cleared up the many doubts I had been having.
