Christian Science has been my way of life for over thirty years. I learned very early that daily prayer is essential; through this protecting prayer I have had no occasion to take a sick day from my work in over twenty years. This is not to say I have been without physical difficulties. But when I have turned to God in prayer, these health problems have been healed. Some results have been quick, but others have taken longer, as did a healing of depression that I experienced.
This condition was quite long-standing. It appeared to be the result of discord among some of my colleagues at work. Although I was not directly involved in the situation, the atmosphere in the office was very uncomfortable for me and seemed to affect me adversely.
During this period I went away for two weeks to take class instruction in Christian Science. On my return to the office I found the atmosphere had become almost "electric." I had been praying about the situation for some time and, with renewed inspiration from class instruction, I now made a more consecrated effort. I immediately declared that there is one Mind, which is God. God is the divine Principle which governs its spiritual idea, man. I endeavoured to see man as expressing such spiritual qualities as kindness and gentleness, instead of rudeness and aggression, which do not come from God.
