A man called the Reading Room, stating that he would like to talk with someone about Christian Science. He was confined to a medical care facility but had been introduced to Christian Science some years ago. Because of the nature of his employment, he had not been able to attend church very often, and now because of the type of facility that he was in, there was no one to talk with about Christian Science. Two of our members responded to his call.
They went to visit him, talked with him, and furnished audio tapes, including those of the weekly Bible Lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly. He was very appreciative and listened to the tapes most of his waking hours, and he also put into practice what he was learning.
About a month after the first visit, he joyfully reported that while he was listening to one of the tapes, suddenly full hearing was restored to his right ear. For over fifty years he had not been able to hear a thing through that ear. The deafness was the result of a medical procedure performed in 1938. He is now looking forward to further progress and to attending our services.
