Young Writers' Workshop

From the May 1994 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Last year children and young people attended two writing workshops held by the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald Editorial Department. They listened, asked questions, wrote, and created original artwork. We'd like to share with you some of the ideas about writing for the periodicals that they said helped them.

Writing for the Christian Science magazines isn't quite the same as writing for your school newspaper or literary magazine. The focus is quite different. It's an opportunity to share your spiritual insights and healing. You can do this in an article, a testimony, or a poem. And you can write it down in your own handwriting, type it on a typewriter or a computer, or record your message on a tape.

You can write about any experience in which you applied Christian Science. Maybe you've had a healing of a sickness or an injury, or something that involved, for example, playing fair, feeling safe, or getting along. It's good to share something that you've proved or put into practice in your own life.
