"Judge not," our Master said,
"that ye be not judged." Matt. 7:1. Yet,
Did not our neighbor foolishly sin?
Yes but he may have hurt within
And done his best in restitution.
Perhaps renewed by resolution
He in turn awaits our recompense
For hardship he incurred through our offense. Is our own field so free of weeds
And unfettered of misdeeds
That we neglect our higher mission,
A pressing need awaiting our attention?
Let us cease to count our neighbor's tares
And forget not the wide world's cares.
We all have work to do to see the world as whole;
To better human lives, to move "from sense to Soul." Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p. 566. So let us judge not, come what may.
The Master said we should pray
. . forgive us our debts," Matt. 6:12. as we shall
Our debtor's debts forgive as well.
Are we so sinless, perfect,
That we exalt ourselves as able to detect
Another's shortcomings and forget our own?
Divine Love's grace upon all is shown.
