It is possible to be crime-free!

From the February 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I was in an airplane, flying over a large city at night. As I gazed at the beautiful twinkling lights below, this thought came to me: "You are looking at a crime-free city!"

I was astounded, and wondered how this teeming city, filled with people having diverse beliefs and standards of morality, could be crime-free. There were probably all sorts of crimes going on down there right at that moment. But the thought stayed with me, and I prayed to understand it.

A few days later I realized the power and authority behind this thought. I saw that it was a statement of spiritual truth—a statement expressing the indisputable fact of God's absolute control over the universe, including man. I was grateful that it came to me when it did—at a moment of peace and silence, high above the human scene.
