Four of us—all Christian Scientists—went for a mountain walking holiday. I am sure that all of us had been praying, as I was, for its overall success, and knew that we were in God's care.
The first day was beautiful, and we decided to take the lift together and walk the ridge. The lift attendant told us that the path was still covered with snow, so one friend and I decided to walk down the other side of the mountain instead—a four-hour hour descent. A fairly lone way down, I slid on some loose gravel and landed heavily on the ground. One leg from the knee down seemed to be sticking out at a strange angle. I put out my hands and tried to bring it back into position but couldn't.
My friend suggested that I sit still for a moment, which I did, both of us praying quietly. Then to my complete surprise I looked up and said, "I am whole and perfect." I got to my feet holding on to my alpenstock. We started down the mountain. I walked for the rest of the holiday in complete freedom.
