My husband was not a Christian Scientist when we married, though I was. I wanted our children to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, where they would learn the richness of the Bible and of man's spiritual relation to God. I also wanted them to have the opportunity to rely on prayer for their health rather than medical treatment. My husband agreed, as long as I was willing to take the children to a doctor if he ever became concerned. There were few doctors' visits, and each of them provided us with evidence of healing through prayer alone of physical problems that were medically diagnosed. I have chosen two of these healings to share with you.
Our daughter was three years old when we adopted her. It became apparent right away that there was something wrong with her sinuses. Each time she had a cold, a frequent occurrence, she became very ill. She was always healed quickly by my prayers or by the treatment of a Christian Science practitioner, but the sinus blockage and the recurrence of the colds were not normal.
The X-ray showed that the break had completely healed—within the previous twenty-four hours.
