By the time you read this, our third special section, "Learning," will have been introduced. It will be a regular Tuesday pullout section. Its focus will be on what is happening at all levels of education, especially those areas that are of special interest to families, but its scope will not be confined from kindergarten through high school. It will be of interest to all ages as it seeks to probe the best in education, and to provide insight and ways to explore learning as a lifelong activity.
• The first two sections, "Work and Money" (a regular Monday feature) and "Arts and Leisure" (our regular Friday feature), have already been introduced and have been well received by our readers. All our sections are designed to make the news more accessible, useful, and reader friendly. They are also written and edited with the aim of being thought-provoking, enlightening, and even challenging. In other words, what we think of as standard Monitor journalism.
• The last two sections to be introduced will be "Homefront" (a regular Wednesday section) and "Ideas" (our regular Thursday section) The "Homefront" section is, of course, designed to appeal to families and will explore all facets of activities that are important in the home, from roof repairs to basement play areas, and from cooking to gardening to everything in between. It will also include news and ideas about the communities we live in. The "Ideas" section will cover ethics, religion, science, technology, books, the environment, and those areas of human thought and endeavor that are at the forefront of progress today.
