The call came shortly after I'd arrived at work. Our youngest son, Brady, had been injured at the school bus stop. He and the other boys had been playing and jostling around, when he fell, striking his shoulder and collarbone against a small brick wall. His grandpa happened to be driving by just after the incident occurred, and picked Brady up and took him home.
On my way to be with Brady, I prayed to feel a sense of God's presence and power. Immediately, a verse from a psalm, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1), came to me.
I also found the passage from Science and Health that says "accidents are unknown to God ..."(p.424) very reassuring, I reasoned that if God doesn't know about accidents, then we, made in His very likeness, can't, in fact, know or experience them either. I knew for sure that Brady couldn't ever fall out of God's care.
