DISCOVERING SCIENCE AND HEALTH AND ITS AUTHOR

'Science and Health gave language to things I always believed...'

From the May 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

works in New York City as both a hair stylist and designer. He spoke with us about his spiritual journey and how he began to practice the healing ideas in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

Could you describe a little bit about the journey you've taken over the years, as far as your interest in things of the Spirit?

I began to think spiritually from early childhood, and I remember when I first started to realize that my real life was spiritual. Those were defining moments. From then on, I always felt the deep, unavoidable reality of God. My mother often told me to rely on Christ, and when she said that to me and she looked into my eyes, there was this pure sense of the truth of that statement. I was able to soak that love in. My mother helped show me faith that wasn't based just on theological information, but on a spiritual sense. It spoke to who I was, essentially and spiritually.
