DISCOVERING SCIENCE AND HEALTH AND ITS AUTHOR

Science and Health on campus—a book for anyone seeking spirituality

From the May 2003 issue of The Christian Science Journal

FUEL FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

In recent years, there's been an ever-growing desire for a certain way of thinking, acting, reasoning. For some people it has taken form as a hunger for simplicity and calmness in life. Many define it as a belief in a power beyond oneself, although they aren't necessarily talking about the God of traditional religion. Still others describe it as a sense of awe and amazement about the universe. It's an exploration of spirituality.

People are discovering that spirituality isn't intended for a special few —everyone has it and can benefit from cultivating their inherent spirituality. In fact, this approach has proved to be an effective way to find solutions to all kinds of concerns: from relationship loss to terrorism, homesickness to cynicism, war to disease.
