When Margaret Watson's first husband passed away several years ago, she was disconsolate. "I was feeling very sorry for myself," Margaret related matter-of-factly. "It was a difficult time."
But something impelled her to move forward. "One day, I decided to start taking in people who seemed in need of rest and companionship," Margaret explained. "It began when I invited a woman who'd been feeling very lonely to come stay with me. We had meals together, and it was just a lovely experience."
That was when things started to click for Margaret: not only did she stop feeling sorry for herself, but she also realized that she wanted to play a role in helping those who were lonely or searching for answers. And, as she related, it was when she turned wholeheartedly to God and said, "OK, Father, I feel this is what you want me to be doing. Show me how I can serve," that a new way to do just that developed.
