FROM THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

From the April 2006 issue of The Christian Science Journal

OUR DEARLY LOVED SECOND READER of The Mother Church, Suzanne Cowin, C.S.B., passed on several weeks ago in her home state of Florida. The radiant joy and vitality Suzanne expressed in sharing the message of the Comforter with humanity—not only as Reader but also as a Christian Science practitioner, teacher, lecturer, and dear friend—have made a lasting impact on everyone who had the opportunity to know her.

As a key focus of her work as Second Reader, Suzanne was instrumental in the relaunch of Spanish-language services at The Mother Church. In addition, she actively participated in Boston's diverse ethnic communities, especially the Hispanic neighborhoods. As a result of her work, many new and lasting relationships were formed with The Mother Church. We continue to cherish her contributions of selfless devotion to a Cause that she loved so much.

The Christian Science Board of Directors has elected Christiane West Little, C.S.B., of Alexandria, Virigina, to fulfill the position of Second Reader of The Mother Church. Christiane may be familiar to many of you. In addition to her work as practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, Christiane has been a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship, co-hosted Spanish Herald broadcasts, and has served as President of The Mother Church sharing the healing message of the Comforter in Latin America, Asia, and Europe.
