From the June 2006 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Meet Meg Dendler—full-time mom, powerhouse church worker, Christian Science practitioner, and avid moviegoer. When Meg and her family relocated a few years ago from the Detroit area to a small town further north, the transition meant changes, not least of which was finding a small church with just a few members. But through prayer and keeping an open heart, Meg discovered her cup filled to the brim. "Little church, big prayers" (p. 14) tells about the lessons she learned and the love she found.

Christian Science practitioner Channing Walker of Glendora, California, knows a lot about trust. Having raised three children with his wife, Kathleen, he's learned to "lean," as he says, on what Mary Baker Eddy calls "the sustaining infinite." Channing talks about this powerful divine force for good—the unfailing source of protection and strength for each of us (p. 24).

Contributing Editor Evan Mehlenbacher has an office in Kennewick, Washington, where he conducts his public practice of helping others spiritually. Besides being a Christian Science practitioner, he is also a teacher of Christian Science. And underlying all his work, prayer, and family life, the power of God's eternal laws supports and guides him every step of the way. He explains how on page 28. Evan lives with his wife, Kathy, and their two children in Richland, Washington.
