CHRISTIAN SCIENCE has blessed my life abundantly, and I am grateful for the many healings both my family and I have experienced.
At one time I was married to a United Methodist minister. During those years, I attended my husband's church and discontinued my study of Christian Science. Even after the marriage ended, I did not immediately return to Christian Science.
Some years ago, I began having severe chest pains that disabled me to the point that I needed to lie down in a fetal position, sometimes for almost half an hour, until they passed. These attacks continued for many weeks. Since I wasn't studying Christian Science at the time, I sought medical help. At first the doctors thought that what I was experiencing was heart related and that the condition was possibly angina. But after running various tests, they eventually sent me to a stomach specialist. He diagnosed my condition as esophageal reflux and said it was not curable but could be helped with medication, which he prescribed. At first the medication did help, but soon the attacks resumed, and I was no better off than before.
