CHRISTIAN SCIENCE NURSING FACILITIES

From the October 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For those needing care somewhere other than their own homes, Christian Science nursing facilities provide a setting that supports the individual's expectaion of spiritual, scientific healing. Bonnie Castroman, a Christian Science nurse and Executive Director of The Commission for Accreditation of Christian Science Nursing Organizations/Facilities, Inc., explains, "The word facility means 'to make easier, to make possible.' And, really, that's what a facility does: It facilitates. A facility supports the healing activity that stems from the Christian Science Nurse By-Law. This setting provides equipment, a structure, and beds. It provides nurses and a staff—and supports the standard of that staff. But more importantly, it supports the vital mental atmosphere—the spiritual altitude of thought that patients need so they can feel the love and spiritual clarity that beholds them as perfect."
