To Shout for Joy!

Love the angel's reply when Mary, soon to be mother of Jesus, asked how she could possibly bear a child, being a virgin. "The Holy Spirit will come upon you," the angel assured her, "and the power of the Most High will overshadow you" (Luke 1:35, New International Version). To me, the Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, as it also translated, is manifested as the divine Soul overwhelming the human. John the Baptist described Christ as baptizing "with the Holy Spirit and with fire" (Luke 3:16, NIV), that is, incinerating anything that is not of God. The apostles once saw the Holy Spirit as "tongues of fire" (Act 2:3, NIV) igniting inspiration that enabled them to speak in languages they were not supposed to know.

In modern times, I have often seen the Holy Spirit in musical situations, such as when a jazz musician would play a marathon improvisation of 30 or 40 minutes, all the while maintaining a seemingly superhuman level of intensity and creativity. Also, many freestyle rappers describe their art as a spiritual experience, as simply channeling God's intelligence.
