Dear Fellow Members,

In today's world most of us don't worry too much about snakes. But if we do, it's the kind of snake that might bite us rather than the kind that might beguile us. St. Paul worried about Christians in his day—and even some today, all these centuries later—in his letter in the New Testament. His concern was that, as a serpent misled Eve, our thoughts about the Christ may become clouded. His "fear" deserves to be taken seriously.

There is a wonderful majesty, a beautiful simplicity, a precious purity, an incomparable healing power, to the Christ. And since Abraham's day, down through history, worldliness has tried to obscure, distort, even crucify, the Christ. Yes, it may appear that Paul had good reason to worry. But the Second Coming of the Christ has happened. The promised Comforter has arrived. The divine Science of the Christ is here. It is peeling off the layers of complexities the world would lay on the simplicity of the Christ. What are those complexities? They include:
