YOUR QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Following the example set by the question and answer columns in the early Journals, when Mary Baker Eddy was Editor, this column will respond to general queries from Journal readers— such as the one above—with responses from Journal readers. It will not cover questions about how to interpret statements in Mary Baker Eddy's writings. There's more information at the end of the column about how to submit questions.

YOUR QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

From the June 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Science and Health says on page 376, "Destroy fear, and you end fever. Some people, mistaught as to Mind-science, inquire when it will be safe to check a fever. Know that in Science you cannot check a fever after admitting that it must have its course."

I worry that this means that if I have been injured or disfigured in some way, I am accepting the problem by bandaging it or using a cane or other aid, and so I've missed my opportunity for a decisive healing. How do I unsee the problem during a time when I have to make accommodations for the difficulty?
