LETTERS

From the September 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Thank you for the periodicals. I don't know what I'd do without them. When I read the interview with Don Adams, Judy Wolff, and Walter Jones, "A Publishing Business Poised for Change" [July 2008, p. 50], I couldn't help wondering what the true cost of the periodicals is and if it shouldn't be an option for willing members to pay more or all of it for their subscriptions.

Many so-called scientific journals charge hundreds of dollars for an annual subscription, yet our Journal, which actually contains real Science and Truth, costs a mere $49/year.

Interestingly, also in the July issue of the Journal, Phil Davis mentioned that "setting a proper charge for my practice didn't reduce the number of patients. Instead, my practice began to grow" ["The Healing Practice of Christian Science: a Ministry and a Career," p. 47].
