SOME YEARS AGO, I was in a traffic accident and received serious injuries, including a fractured spinal column and a serious blow to the head. In consequence, I was immobilized with a cast on my chest and back for 30 days. I recuperated slowly, but pain persisted in my head and spinal column. When the cast was removed and I was able to attend consultation regarding the terrible headaches, I was sent to an ophthalmologist because the accident had affected my left eye and nasal passage, causing dizzines and nausea.
The doctors who examined me commented on a similar case in which they had to perform emergency surgery to avoid loss of eyesight. When they requested that I return the following week, I felt very worried about the implications of an operation.
An aunt saw me and spoke to me of Christian Science, lent me some copies of the Spanish edition of The Herald of Christian Science, and gave me the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
