IN 2005, I GRADUALLY became aware of an abnormal growth on the top of my head. It enlarged to the point that friends and acquaintances noticed it.
Because I had always been successful with Christian Science treatment for healing, I decided to rely again on this method. My prayers included the need to recognize my true selfhood as the wholly spiritual reflection of God. I called a Christian Science practitioner to support me through prayer, to help me fully realize my actual being as the Christ-image—the real man of God's creating, as stated in the first chapter of Genesis. Together we reasoned that I was already perfect, and that this perfection must be apparent to human perception. I resisted the temptation to outline just how this manifestation should take place, knowing that God was in control of my being.
One day as I was walking in the rain to nearby building, a gust of wind brought a rib of my umbrella down sharply on the top of my head. At the time I didn't think anything about it, but later, looking in the mirror, I saw that half of this growth was gone. About two weeks later the remainder came off while I was in the shower. During these two incidents there was no bleeding. The healing has been permanent.
