A Conversation

Attorney Steve Lyons shares his impressions of Christian Science with Russ Gerber.

From the April 2009 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Steve Lyons has more than twenty years of experience under his belt litigating major civil and criminal cases, and served as counsel on a number of occasions for The First Church of Christ, Scientist. He graduated from Northeastern University, attended the Sloan School of Management at MIT, graduated from Northeastern Law School, and is a founding member of the law firm Klieman, Lyons, Schindler & Gross in Boston. Lyons is also on the faculty as an adjunct professor of law at Boston University School of Law. And if that didn't keep him busy enough, he also squeezes into his schedule enough time to compete in triathlons.

On November 13, 2008, Steve Lyons spoke to the North American Conference of Committees on Publication held in Chicago, Illinois. He was interviewed by Russ Gerber, who is Media Manager for the Committee on Publication office. Here is an excerpt from their conversation.

RUSS GERBER: You became involved with the Christian Science Church in 1986, and under conditions that necessitated becoming familiar with its theology. Can you tell us how you went about that—what you learned about the religion and about Christian Scientists?
