A Villanelle on God's Omnipresence

From the August 2009 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Spirit is around us, close as air.
We breathe Truth in; it forms the "isness" here.
We feel God's presence with us everywhere.

As we rise in the morning, God is there.
We venture out still knowing He is near.
Spirit's all around us, close as air.

Love stands by our shoulder in our prayer
and blots away all skepticism, fear.
We feel Love's presence with us everywhere.

In work on thorny problems when we dare
to seek new ways, we find our answers clear.
Mind is there around us, close as air.

To find our fun in what is clean and fair,
we in relaxing don't think it sheer
delusion to feel Soul's presence everywhere.

And we hold true right through the spotlight's glare,
though news may shout and paparazzi leer—
Spirit is around us, close as air;
we feel God's presence with us everywhere.
