CHRISTIAN SCIENCE IN THE 21ST CENTURY

IS GOD 'BIG' ENOUGH?

From the August 2009 issue of The Christian Science Journal

HE SWUNG THE SLEDGE HAMMER. The boulder cracked beautifully in two. His neighbor wondered: "How could he do that with one blow?" What the neighbor hadn't seen were the 39 blows of yesterday that weakened what seemed unbreakable stone.

Some of today's global threats seem even more resistant than unbreakable stone. It's natural to ask, "How can my single prayer affect the world's financial needs, or global warming, or stop acts of terror?"
