ANNOUNCEMENT

LIVES INSPIRED by Mary Baker Eddy's Example

A 2011 Special Series

From the November 2010 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One hundred years after her passing in 1910, Mary Baker Eddy's words and works continue to inspire new generations. People on every continent and from all walks of life carve out time for daily study of her primary book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, along with the Holy Bible. Since 1894 these two books have served students of the Scriptures, those who study and practice the teachings of Christian Science, and local congregations as the Pastor of the Church she founded.

Although Christian Scientists tend to be, by habit and affection, "people of the Book," they're also a people moved to help others through prayer, because of Mary Baker Eddy's example as a Christian healer and her devotion to following Christ Jesus' supreme example as teacher and healer. And through the decades since 1910, thousands have brought that desire for human betterment and healing to their work in a wide range of trades and professions, as well as in meeting parenting and growing-up demands, and academic challenges.

In a new yearlong series beginning in January 2011, the Journal will publish first-person accounts by people whose lives have been moved and shaped by this remarkable religious leader, thinker, and healer. The editors will be inviting several authors to launch the series; their contributions will be published from January through June.
