Trusting the way

From the November 2010 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The hour may seem forlorn and dark while we
decide which way to go. Yet He will be with us—
pillar of fire or cloud, clear Word.
Even if faith in ordinary ties with family
and friends is lost, the yearning to be comforted
turns into wilderness, there is a way—
for power and blessing are of God; renewal
and true need are always met as He discerns
a pure and innocent desire.

Think of that Shunammite trusting so tenderly;
of Joseph who embraced his brothers and forgave.
Remember Saul, vowing to persecute Christians
and then redeemed as Paul, he pressed on
and gave his life to serving Christ.

The joy of trusting God can come to anyone
who will accept His love and walk with Him.
