Although I do believe with all my heart that the path will open up for me to serve in a Christian Science nursing facility, for now I am honored, blessed, and humbled to be one of the conduits of the Light of divine Love in a hospital, where I work in environmental services.
I would like to share a wonderful demonstration at the hospital that happened recently. I was cleaning a room on a unit, and looking across to the other room, I saw a patient trying to get out of bed—very wobbly. I ran over and helped him sit down. He kept trying to get up. I informed the nurse on the floor, who was working on the mobile computer. She said I was to tell the patient to “hold on” and that she would get there. I did as she said. Then I went back to the room I was cleaning across the hall. All of a sudden I heard a very loud thud. I ran over to the patient, who had fallen on his knees and then flat on his face on the hard tile. A nursing aide had gone there to help him but could not hold him.
I held his right arm and whispered to him, “All is fine.” I said God was with him and in God no injury or accident can happen. I told him gently to think about himself running, jumping, and walking all around as if he were a child. I helped the nursing aide lift him up from the floor. To our amazement he was light as a feather! This man was very large—over 250 pounds. I am over a hundred pounds less than that, and the aide was even smaller! The patient was back on the bed. He was checked out and everything was fine. Nothing broken, no bruises. He was calm and peaceful.
