Lives Inspired by Mary Baker Eddy's Example

Lives inspired by Mary Baker Eddy's example

A 2011 Series

From the March 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

How has your life been inspired by Mary Baker Eddy’s? Her life journey—in particular her rediscovery of the spiritual laws that enabled Christ Jesus to heal—has spoken to people through the decades and across cultural barriers.

This month’s three voices come from quite diverse backgrounds. Brian Pennix is a Christian Science practitioner in Alamo, California. During his earlier career as a lawyer, Brian served as general counsel for The First Church of Christ, Scientist. Sushil Likhi practices and teaches Christian Science healing in Chandigarh, India. Amy Voorhees was a 2010 Mary Baker Eddy Library Fellow, and is a doctoral candidate in religious studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Beginning with this year’s July issue, the series will feature volunteered contributions from Journal readers around the world. Submissions have already begun to arrive. To be considered for the series, your offering needs to reach us by March 1. Please keep your essay fairly brief, around 400 words or less, so that we’ll be able to publish several each month through December.
