God's shift

From the May 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In my final year of graduate school, I was introduced to Christian Science by a friend and had a healing of a chronic stomach problem.

After I finished school, I completed a six-month course in computer programming and started looking for a job. I took help from a Christian Science practitioner, and within two months, I got an offer from a telecom company. They offered me shifts on Sundays and work in regular shifts, but I wanted to attend services on Sundays in the Christian Science branch church where I was a member.

In order to attend church, I had to work irregular night, morning, and evening shifts. I accepted the offer, but I was not sure whether I would be able to cope with sleeping and eating at irregular times. I discussed my concerns with the practitioner and she said, “You work in God’s shift.” This truth inspired me a lot. When I began working, I witnessed goodness all the time.
