Mirror mirror

From the June 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It came to him,

“Seek ye my face.”

He had been staring at a cracked mirror,

On the wall of consciousness

Seeing ugliness, distortion.

He became very quiet,

The fear and clamor stopped.

A tiny light appeared,

Its brightness grew until

He saw another image, selfhood

Whole, upright, pure, free.

Envisioning God, face to face,

Consciousness was healed,

The body swiftly followed.
