I treasure the guidance of the By-Laws in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, and have found them helpful in all my activities.
Shortly after I was elected First Reader at a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, I joined an organization that gave out scholarships to young women.
Everything about this organization fit me. Besides the worthwhile activity of helping these women, one could share one’s individual skills with the group in a talk at their monthly meeting. As an English teacher I enjoyed sharing some favorite poetry and gave a talk about my views on certain aspects of it.
