God's guidance after college

From the March 2012 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Tad Blake-Weber––staff

Looking for a job can be tough, and if you turn on the news today, it may seem impossible. Right out of college in a struggling economy, and just after getting married, I began looking for a way to start my career. The odds seemed stacked against me, but I felt God had guided me through school, and I knew He would lead me to a job and career.

College was not easy for me. I had an interest in journalism, but the year I started at Texas A&M University, I heard that the journalism program was ending. I spent two years as a general studies major and eventually made my way to the history department. And while I found many of my classes interesting, I didn’t make good grades. I knew that I had talent, but I blamed my bad grades and lack of studying on the school system.
